Derrick Rose may be off the hook, for now, in his current rape case if the judge makes good on his threat.
According to TMZ, the judge threatened to declare a mistrial in the case over allegations that the accuser’s reps did bot turn over all the text messages that could help Rose.
Rose’s attorney claims that the accuser left out certain text exchanges that would prove that the sex was consensual and not rape. The judge agreed and warned the accuser that, “this is not a trivial matter.”
But the judge did state that he would rather not declare a mistrial because that means that the case would start back up mid NBA season, which would mean Rose would miss games. Also taken into that same consideration, the accuser, where a mistrial would interfere with exams.
