You can hate all you want, but I think it’s pretty safe to say Harlem native rapper Dave East has made it. After recently announcing his sign to Def Jam, East dropped his highly anticipated mixtape Kairi Chanel named after his daughter for fans. Genius gave fans an intimate listening of Kairi Chanel at it’s Brooklyn’s headquarters on 10/6.

Co-sponsored by Magnum Condoms, Def Jam Recordings, Mas Appeal Records and Rap Genius, fans were treated to an open bar and a live DJ set by Statik Selektah.  The mixtape features notable artists including The Game, Fabulous, 2 Chainz, Sevyn Streeter, 2Chainz, Beanie Sigel and Jazzy Amra. Taking us back to an old school hip hop vibe, East isn’t afraid to let us know about his past, his life experiences and his faith through his lyricism.
