U.S. Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay’s 15-year-old daughter, Trinity was shot and killed on Sunday in Kentucky. Police said Trinity was shot in the neck during a shootout between two cars in the parking lot of a restaurant. Police said she was a bystander and was pronounced dead at a local hospital an hour later.
Three men have been arrested in Trinity’s death; D’Vonta Middlebrooks, Chazerae Taylor, and D’Markeo Taylor. Middlebrook was charged with felony gun possession and the Taylor duo, who are father and son were charged with wanton endangerment for their role in the shooting. Trinity was a high school sprinter in Kentucky, just like her father. She ran both local and state races.
