Happy Birthday, Chuck Berry! Chuck Berry has officially hit a new milestone as he turns 90 years old today (Oct. 18). To celebrate the big day, he has announced a new LP coming out in 2017. This comes as a surprise because the legendary rock n’ roll pioneer hasn’t released new music in 38 years!

This new album is called Chuck, and is dedicated to his wife who he has been married to for 68 years. In a statement Chuck shared a few words from the heart to his beloved wife.

“This record is dedicated to my beloved Toddy. My darlin’, I’m growing old! I’ve worked on this record for a long time. Now I can hang up my shoes!”

Chuck Berry wrote, produced and recorded the project himself. He also brought along his original bandmates, including his children Charles Berry Jr. and Ingrid Berry, to join in as they’ve performed at the legendary Blueberry Club alongside Chuck.

“What an honor to be part of this new music,” Charles Berry Jr. said in a statement. “The St. Louis band, or as dad called us ‘the Blueberry Hill Band,’ fell right into the groove and followed his lead. These songs cover the spectrum from hard driving rockers to soulful thought provoking time capsules of a life’s work.”
