Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur have been placed on the nominee list for the 2017 “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” class.
This is Janet Jackson’s second nomination. Last year, she missed the mark and Cleveland.com explained why she didn’t make the cut by saying, “She wasn’t rock enough-she’s not her brother.” Guess the people of Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame had a change of heart by nominating her again. This news came just in time because recently, the 50-year-old announced that she is expecting her first child with husband Wissam Al Mana.
Surprisingly, this is the first time Tupac Shakur has been nominated. The rules state that any artist who wished to be considered into the 2017 class had to release their first single or album by 25 years ago, or no later than 1991. Shakur’s first album which was titled “2Pacolypse” released this time 25 years ago so he made the cut.
Congrats to Janet Jackson, Tupac Shakur and all the other nominees. We will keep you posted as more details come about.
