Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell, and Nickel Ashmeade have Nesta Carter to thank for being disqualified from the 4 x 100 relay race at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. This is one of nine gold medals for Bolt, but a disappointment nonetheless.
After the International Olympic Committee (IOC) retested 454 samples from the 2008 Olympics last year, Carter tested positive for a banned drug, Methylhexaneamine. The stimulant has been prohibited by the World Anti- Doping Agency since 2004.
As a result of the findings, the IOC determined that Each member of the Jamaican Olympic team will lose the gold in this race. Trinidad &a Tobago will now take the gold, Japan to receive the silver and Brazil will have earned the bronze.
