In the first month of his presidency, Donald Trump has declared war on any media outlet that criticizes his choices as Commander-in-Chief.  Basically, any outlet but FOX is seen as “trash” in his eyes, and that’s exactly what he thinks of the esteemed news publication, The New York Times.

Last summer, on the campaign trail, he appeared on Fox News (of course) to predict the Times was doing so horribly that they’d soon be forced to close to down:

“You look at The New York Times, I mean, the fail — I call it ‘The Failing New York Times’ because it won’t be in business for another, probably more than a few years unless somebody goes in and buys it and wants to lose a lot of money,” Trump said. “But The New York Times is so unfair. I mean they write three, four articles about me a day. No matter how good I do on something, they’ll never write good.”

Though the newspaper industry is surely struggling, today The Times reported that their subscriptions have risen to new heights despite Donald’s latest alternative facts.

According to the company’s CEO, Mark Thompson, NYT’s  digital subscribers went up by 276,000  in the fourth quarter and the print subscribers went up by 20k as well.

So, again, DT has NO grasp on what is going on in the world.

But shout out to the NEW YORK TIMES!
