For all you diehard fans waiting to pounce on that new Yeezy season 5 collection, I have bad news for you. Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) boss Steven Kolb called the timing “disruptive” and “unfair,” prompting Kanye to halt plans for his Yeezy season 5 debut.
Kolb told Women’s Wear Daily West had failed had a miscommunication with the CFDA of his initial plans, which interfered with the plans of Marchesa
“Once again, CFDA was not approached or consulted about the possibility of Kanye West showing on the official New York Fashion Week schedule,” Kolb said Wednesday. “As the scheduler of the week, the CFDA works with more than 300 brands to identify appropriate times for them to show their collections and avoid scheduling conflicts. Not going through the proper channels is disruptive to the whole week and unfair to designers who have secured spots through the formal procedure.”
Kolb also spoke to Hypebeast saying West had called him and confirmed he had been “unaware” of any scheduling conflict. Kolb also went on to say when West became aware of the scheduling conflict, he immediately went to look for other alternative options.
Fans are eager to see what West has in store, especially since his wife Kim confirmed to fans on Instagram that the two were working on a kids’ line.
