The LA Lakers have announced that Magic Johnson is their new President of Basketball Operations. In response, Johnson is calling for a Kobe Bryant return as well.
Sam Amick of USA Today broke the news of Johnson trying to recruit Bryant for a return, this time having a role connected to player relations. ESPN.com’s Ramona Shelburne tweeted her speculations:
On Valentine’s Day Johnson stopped by ESPN’s First Take to say what he’d do if he held a higher up position in The Lakers:
“First call I make if I’m in charge? [Bryant]. Because Kobe understands winning. He understands, also, these players. So I would call, ‘What role you want? If you’ve got a day, just give me that day. I’ll take that. Whatever time he has, I want him to come and be a part of it.”
