On Tuesday (Mar. 28) “The O’Reilly Factor” host, Bill O’ Reilly can under fire after he made disparaging comments about U.S. Representive Maxine Waters. After backlash and an apology, Waters herself appeared on MSNBC to respond to O’Reilly’s comments.
“I’m a strong black woman and I cannot be intimidated. I cannot be undermined.”
Waters then gave a message to women everywhere who are insulted for standing up for themselves. “I’d like to say to women everywhere: don’t allow these right-wing talking heads, these dishonorable people to intimidate you or scare you,” she continued. “Be who you are, do what you do, and let us get on with discussing the real issues of this country.”
The hastag #BlackWomenAtWork was created in support of Waters and reporter April Ryan who was yelled at by Sean Spicer for “shaking her head.” See Waters response to O’Reilly above and check out her full interview with Chirs Hayes below.
