Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble” has officially blown up. The song, which debuted just over a week ago, has debuted at the number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. Not only is “Humble,” produced by Mike WiLL Made-It and Pluss, the highest-charting song of K. Dot’s career so far that he’s the lead artist on, but it’s also the highest rap debut on the chart since Eminem’s “Love The Way You Lie” debut at No. 2 in July 2010.
Industry forecasters were projecting the song to debut inside the top 3 with an outside chance to even hit the #1 spot but it hasn’t been successful in upsetting Ed Sheeran’s smash hit ‘Shape of You’. K.Dot’s viral song managed to sell 111k copies on digital stores while raking up 49.8 million streams in the U.S. alone.
