24-year-old Joshua Traylor died April 9th after he jumped into Clinton River trying to save his girlfriend’s 3-year-old son.
Traylor, his girlfriend Alexus Green and her son were feeding ducks on the boardwalk when her son suddenly fell into water that was about 10-15 feet deep. Traylor did not know how to swim, but he didn’t hesitate to jump in the water to save the toddler. After he struggled a nearby onlooker jumped in to save the boy, but couldn’t locate Traylor. Michigan police officers found the body an hour later using underwater cameras.
Traylor’s father described him as:
“His heart is huge and he always felt he had to help somebody.”
It’s sad when somebody passes in such a way, but I’m sure he wouldn’t be mad because he died a hero trying to save a life.
