Even before Trump’s presidency, he was an active user of Twitter, usually saying any problematic thing that came to his mind. Now that his words carry political weight we should keep an eye on them as they could be a catalyst for international problems.

As recent as a week ago Trump sent out tweets directed at North Korea and China that sound a little less than diplomatic. He starts with “I explained to the President of China that a trade deal with the U.S. will be far better for them if they solve the North Korean problem!” He then goes on to say “North Korea is looking for trouble. If China decides to help, that would be great. If not, we will solve the problem without them! U.S.A”

North Korea hasn’t taken these tweets lightly either. Their Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Han Song Ryol has said these tweets are “aggressive” and “making trouble.” I don’t think this is the type of transparency we were looking for with or President. These sound like borderline threats and to see them on social media makes it even worse. I hope the President or someone close to him can make him realize these tweets serve to only rile up the people in a negative way.
