Kendrick Lamar drops the music for hit song “DNA” from album DAMN this week.

The music video features actor Don Cheadle channeling Kendrick or rather being possessed by, rapping the lyrics of the song in the polygraph scene. The video was directed by Nabil Elderkin, Kendrick Lamar, and his manager Dave Free and takes us on a journey from the interrogation room to playing dice on the street and more.

Produced by Mike Will Made-It, the song dives into his personal thoughts on traditional American values, his blackness and what impact his upbringing has had on him. Lamar’s raps have longed showed us how he thinks about race, systems, and oppression in this country and DNA gives a clear view to the questions he has, and how he’s constantly searching for the answers.
