Just when we thought Kendrick Lamar had outdone himself with To Pimp a Butterfly, he proves he’s still evolving as an artist with his latest album DAMN.
Lamar released the highly-anticipated body of work on April 14, and is expected to top the charts and according to Hits Daily Double, the album is projected to sell up to 300,000 copies in the U.S. the first week. He will effortlessly make his way to the Billboard Top Album Sales and 200 charts.
His last album opened with over 360,000 consumption units and he’s expected to surpass that ar 460,000-485,000 consumption units with DAMN. The Billboard top 200 takes into account traditional album sales, track equivalent albums and streaming equivalent albums to create its top 10 of 200 where Damn is expected to be sitting at no. 1.
Lamar gave us a sneak peak of what the new album had in store when he dropped singles “Humble” and “The Heart Part 4.” The album features artists like U2 and Rihanna and 14 tracks that can be considered much less political than past projects.
The Billboard 200 chart will be public on their site on Sunday, April 23rd.
