Undefeated WBC super welterweight champion Jermell Charlo comes through Ebro In The Morning to discuss his upcoming title fight with Charles Hatley, some thoughts on Floyd Mayweather, his relationship with twin brother Jermall who’s also a fighter, and learning to respect the business of boxing.
Jermell speaks candidly when asked about the potential Mayweather – Macgregor bout in what Rosenberg calls “a joke of a fight.”
“A lot of guys are upset,” says Charlo. The idea behind this is that if Floyd were to fight an actual boxer, it would be a great opportunity for that fighter to be elevated thus elevating the entire sport or as Ebro put it “do it for the culture.”
Charlo says he’s grown to understand the business behind such decisions and is learning from it all but is ultimately focused on his upcoming fight this Saturday, April 22 at the Barclay’s Arena in Brooklyn and will be televised live on Showtime.
