It was all good just a week ago for basketball’s parent enemy #1. LaVar Ball, father of projected NBA first round pick Lonzo Ball has ruffled feathers yet again. This time, LaVar may have hurt his son where it counts the most, and that is with endorsers.
Nike executive George Raveling didn’t have anything nice to say when asked to speak about Ball on Wednesday. According to the SportsBusiness Journal, Raveling gives Ball the title of the “worst thing to happen to basketball in the last hundred years.”
Wow, veteran Nike exec George Raveling on LaVar Ball: “The worst thing to happen to basketball in the last hundred years.” #sbjwcs

Although LaVar has made it clear that he wants to be the one to brand his children under the BBB umbrella throughout their career, he surely can’t be too happy about Nike reps writing him off before his son steps a foot on the NBA hardwood.
Lonzo Ball’s high draft stock shouldn’t be phased too much by the antics of his father, but that remains to be seen. We’ll all have to tune in on June 22nd to know for sure, as the NBA 2017 draft takes place.
