In 2009 the very first “Avatar” film grossed $2.8 billion worldwide making it one of the highest-grossing films of all time. 8 years later and we’re still waiting for the sequel. Time after time we’ve been misled into thinking we were actually getting closer to the release, but something seemed to be holding off the release.

Or at least we thought.

The Avatar Facebook page took the time this past Saturday to finally give it fans an update:

“Avatar takes flight as we begin concurrent production on four sequels. The journey continues December 18, 2020, December 17, 2021, December 20, 2024 and December 19, 2025!”

Needless to say NO ONE was happy with this announcement.

At least we have an official release date now, let’s just hope they actually come thru with a movie this time and not push the dates back even further.
