As the divorce between Mary J. Blige and her husband of 12-years Kendu Isaacs continue, things are getting messier between the two as the fight for money continues. As the divorce push forward, Mary J. Blige has reportedly claimed that her estranged husband falsely claimed business expenses during their marriage and spent that money on another lover.
Since filing for divorce in July, Blige and Isaacs have been fighting over his request for almost $130,000-a-month in spousal support. In the new documents, she claims the money he spent on his alleged girlfriend he filed as “travel charges.”
Mary called his demands for spousal support outrageous and insisted he wants more money than he actually needs in order to support his parent and children from previous relationships. Isaacs claimed Blige earned between $1.5 million to $5.1 million over the last two years while he didn’t collect any income since being fired by Blige shortly after she filed for divorce last July. But Blige insists these claims aren’t true and their estate is “underwater.”
“I am not responsible for supporting [Martin’s] parents and his children from another relationship which he lists as ongoing monthly expenses,” Blige stated in the court documents.
Meanwhile, Blige’s latest album Strength of A Woman will be released on April 28.
