Uber’s whole entire existing is based on the fact that they can track your location in a moments notice to provide a service for its costumers in a timely manner. Now, most millennials and tech savvy people are aware that the government and other entities with access can invade your privacy to an extent without you exactly knowing it. However, Uber went too far with the situation and has been using your data even in you no longer have the app according to Times when they went into deeper as The chief executive officer of Uber, Travis Kalanick was profiled into the notion.

Uber attempted to move around Apple’s policies, but this is not Uber’s first time under Kalanick’s authority to do any of these practices. Uber rose to their accolades by software and apps like Greyball (effectively allowed them to evade law enforcement by disguising the locations of cars and drivers) to make them more compatible to rise above their competition.  Apple CEO Tim Cook stepped in with this statement below:

“For months, Mr. Kalanick had pulled a fast one on Apple by directing his employees to help camouflage the ride-hailing app from Apple’s engineers. The reason? So Apple would not find out that Uber had been secretly identifying and tagging iPhones even after its app had been deleted and the devices erased — a fraud detection maneuver that violated Apple’s privacy guidelines.

However, Apple was on to the deception, and when Mr. Kalanick arrived at the midafternoon meeting sporting his favorite pair of bright red sneakers and hot-pink socks, Mr. Cook was prepared. “So, I’ve heard you’ve been breaking some of our rules,” Mr. Cook said in nonchalantly” So Stop the trickery,” Mr. Cook then asserted “Or Uber’s app would be kicked out of Apple’s App Store.”

Mark Cuban, Dallas Mavericks owner had this description about Kalanick:

“Travis’s biggest strength is that he will run through a wall to accomplish his goals,” Cuban explained. “Travis’s biggest weakness is that he will run through a wall to accomplish his goals. That’s the best way to describe him.”

Kalanick is still on blast about being associated with President Trump advisory council, he has since resigned at the reason of people boycotting Uber by deleting it earlier this year.
