Everyone one has been talking about the tennis’ brightest star Serena Williams, who recently announced her pregnancy via Snapchat. In a bright yellow bikini, she revealed to the world that she and billionaire fiancé, Alex Ohanian were indeed expecting. It wasn’t long before the world realized that she had also just won the Australian Open while pregnant!
However recently, at the 2017 Ted Talks Conference Serena told Gail King that she was quite ready to let the world know.
“Well, actually it was an accident. I was on vacation just taking some time for myself and I have this thing where I’ve been checking my status and taking pictures every week to see how far along I’m going,” Serena said. “I didn’t tell a lot of people to be quite honest and I’d been saving it. On social media, you press the wrong button and… Thirty minutes later I missed four calls and I’m like, ‘That’s weird.’ But it was a good moment. I was only going to wait five or six more days [to share].”
Despite the news getting out a little earlier than expected, Serena seems more than optimistic about continuing her career in tennis.
“Roger Federer is older than me and he’s still winning everything,” she mentioned “My baby’s going to be in the stands, hopefully cheering for me,”.
