Legendary rapper DMX has checked himself into rehab.
The writing has been on the wall that something wasn’t quite right with X these last few weeks. First was his alarming demeanor at the Ruff Ryders reunion concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, and then the cancellation of shows he had lined up due to a what was called a medical emergency.
According to TMZ, DMX checked himself into rehab voluntarily with the encouragement from his manager, Pat Gallo, and ex-wife, Tashera Simmons. DMX’s manager, Pat Gallo issued an apology for fans that purchased tickets to the recently canceled shows:
“It is important right now that he take some time off to focus on his health so that he can be a better father, friend and entertainer…We are eternally grateful for the outpouring of concern and support that has poured in. We ask that you please keep X in your prayers as he embraces your support.”
DMX has a well-documented history of issues with substance abuse and we hope that he is able to get the help he needs in rehab and comes out stronger, better and renewed.
