When the topic of ballerinas come about you always hear Misty Copeland’s name in everyone’s knows. The reason for that is she’s the first African-American Female Principal Dancer with the prestigious American Ballet Theatre. She is the most known paragon when is comes to performance arts like dancing like know other of how hard it is to be excellent in a center that does not value you fully.
Black people in the space of ballet and other dance companies alike are very scarce unless they create their own entity to blossom in (hence why Alvin Ailey exist).
