Chance The Rapper’s cult following has afforded him plenty of opportunities that the typical indie artists could only dream of. Over the last year alone, Chance has won a grammy and has had a top 50 single on Billboard. Recently, he scored his first number one record thanks to DJ Khaled’s new single “I’m The One.”
Last year, Chance launched a new way to connect music lovers with their local radio station with his Rapper Radio platform. The website makes requesting a song much easier than the traditional call in style of the past. When you typed in your city, you could select which radio station you wanted to hear Chance’s music on and with a simple click, it will tweet their request to the station’s official Twitter.
Now in the spirit of pushing the culture forward, Chance has announced that he’s expanding the platform to other artists to help them gain more radio play. Now that he’s proven the effectiveness of this strategy, Chance is expanding Rapper Radio to allow fans to help other artists gain more radio play.
Fans can pick between Chance’s “All Night,” the Chance/Khaled single “I’m The One,” featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo and Lil Wayne, “Bambi” by Jidenna and Linken Park’s “Heavy” on RapperRadio.com. After voting, fans will be in a running to win a prize. Top fans will receive tickets to Chance’s currently sold-out Be Encouraged tour and his wardrobe from the “I’m The One” video shoot. Winners will be selected this Friday, May 12 at noon CST.
