In honor of its 60th anniversary, the Grammy’s will take place in New York City in 2018. Mayor Bill de Blasio along with executives from the Recording Academy have confirmed that Music’s Biggest Night will indeed take place in the big Apple on January 28.
“There is no better place for Music’s Biggest Night than the world’s greatest city,” said the New York Mayor. “Bringing these awards back to the city will allow us to further support and foster the music industry in New York.”
For the last 18 years, with the exception of 2003, the Grammy’s have been held in Los Angeles. Of course, this was an extremely lucrative event for the City. In 2014 a study showed that the Grammy’s alone brought in about $82 million to LA.

However, all is not lost for the City of Angels, as the awards will reportedly return to LA in 2019 as a part of a multi-year deal.
