Sampa the Great is putting on for the Australian Hip-Hop scene with a new EP recently released entitled HERoes Act 2.
The 23-year-old gives off neo-soul and Lauryn Hill vibes in all of her music, guided by musical mentor Estelle. The EP features tracks “Everybody’s Hero,” “The Plug” and “Paved with Gold,” all songs including vocals from Estelle.
The project was very special to Botswana native, and she shares the meaning behind the songs.
“Self -belief is a hard tightrope to balance, this is an affirmation to myself,” she said. “If ever I find myself in pain, I know I’ll be able to walk out of it because I am able to stand alone to follow my passions,” explained Sampa the Great to Essence.
