Jay Z & his mother Gloria Carter are determined to send more kids to school. Back in 2003, the mother-son tandem created their “Shawn Carter Foundation” in order to fund the tuition fees for underprivileged youth across the country. Yesterday it was reported by Billboard that Jay Z has initiated yet another power move by partnering with eBay for Charity to assist in their efforts.

eBay for Charity plans to initiate a 10-day charitable auction where celebrity possessions and unique experiences will be auctioned off to the highest bidders and all proceeds will be allocated toward the Shawn Carter Foundations educational assistance efforts.

“Our goal is to touch as many people as we possibly can,” Gloria Carter explains to Billboard about the foundation’s commitment to join forces with eBay for Charity. “There are so many young people—a lot of whom are first-generation students—that have the desire to attend college but don’t have the funds. My mother and father taught us to pay it forward and give to the community. That was my inspiration for the foundation. It makes me feel so blessed to be put in a situation where I can help the next generation.”

The auction is set to last up until May 24 at 1 p.m. Est.
