Future’s “Mask Off” hasn’t only sparked musical social media challenges and conversation about drug use, it also has independent rapper Chano freestyling.
During a concert in Columbus, OH Chance the Rapper reportedly had more than enough Henny and took to the stage to rhyme over the hits instrumentals.
“When I come through when I take the mask off/Every time I ride through niggas get soft/Niggas talk crazy but they don’t want it in person/When I be on TV it don’t be a lot of cursing,” raps Chance, according to XXL.
Chance is showing that he can rap about being close to God, and jump into trap music effortlessly. He makes it clear in an interview with Jordan Peele that his biggest fear was being put in a box and misunderstood.
“I never sought out for people to recognize it as a gospel album. I don’t make Christian rap, but I am a Christian rapper,” explained Chance in his phone interview with Peele.
