Sony Studios has just released information that Tom Hardy would star in a role in a Venom standalone movie. Fans immediately noticed “Sony’s Marvel Universe” when it was announced indicating a difference from the already popular Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sony also had plans of releasing movies of other standalone films like Black Cat and Silver Sable.
In 2015, Sony inked a deal with Marvel Studios to share the licensing rights to Spider-Man. Sony will not have to pay Marvel to use their characters and Marvel will not receive any profit from Sony Films featuring Spiderman. It’s unknown if Tom Holland’s Spiderman will make an appearance in this Venom film, but we will see how it ends up.
