It seems the Migos were in several confusing situations during the process of rehearsing and performing with Katy Perry and her drag queen backup dancers at the “Saturday Night Live” finale on Saturday, May 20. Not only was Katy Perry’s cringe-inducing performance a heavy point of discussion, but there was apparent drama unfolding behind the scenes as well.

The initial report by one of the drag queens, which has since been deleted from World of Wonder, claimed, “I was one of the performers on that table with them the whole time, during the rehearsal for 3 days. On the day of the filming, when I got there, I was told to leave. I wasn’t on the set at the time, but we were asking what happened. They said it was because Migos doesn’t feel comfortable with having drag queens there.” This was also supported through an anonymous email from one of the “SNL” crew.

This caused the Migos to receive a very negative cloud of attention, especially due to their past debacle involving homophobia, surrounding some comments they made about ILoveMakkonens sexuality to Rolling Stone.

However, SPIN has reported that, after these anonymous reports caused a stir online, one of the drag queens that performed with the Migos and Perry, Brita Filter, has stated, “It was incredible performing with Katy Perry. She wanted to have all walks of life at the table. I was happy to represent all the drag queens… There was numerous changes throughout the rehearsal process. They chose to have only people of color at the table. There was no drama with Migos.”

Thus, as it turns out, the anonymous side of the story is not the only side.
