It has just been announced that DJ/Producer Statik Selektah has signed a management deal with none other than Roc Nation. Selektah also told fans that his eighth studio album named 8  is going to be dropping this summer. Statik spoke to Billboard about the deal and said:

“I’ve known [Roc Nation management rep] Kristi [Clifford] over there for a long time and she had mentioned my name. My name came up in a meeting when they were talking about The LOX. I wasn’t on the last LOX album and Kristi spoke up and said that [I’m] on the next one, so it kind of started a conversation and we started throwing out ideas with me coming up [to Roc Nation]. A lot of the people up there was familiar with what I was doing. I played some music and it just all came together really good. The whole staff up there is exactly what I need for my movement to go to the next level. I think I bring my own flavor of what I do as well.”

If you aren’t too familiar with the producer, he is a Boston based beat maker that has been behind the beat to a lot of your favorite tracks. He has worked with Action Bronson, Lauryn Hill, Nas, Joey Bada$$, Action Bronson, and more.

As for his upcoming album 8, the project is going to feature artists such as 2Chainz, Joey Bada$$, Run the Jewels, The LOX, Wale, Action Bronson, Black Thought, Raekwon, Freddie Givvs, Westside Gunn, Conway and Sean Price (RIP).

Congrats to Statik, all of the fans can’t wait to see what he has in store! Which collab are you looking forward to hearing the most?
