Ebro, away on an assignment, calls into the show to refute a claim made against him by Charlamagne the God.

While on the “Joe Budden Podcast,” Charlamagne tries to say that Ebro asked for a picture with him, only in the interest of garnishing social media attention. The story seems unlikely because it is, it’s given entirely without context.

The truth is that while at the Audubon Ballroom where Malcolm X was assassinated, at Colin Kaepernick’s “Know Your Rights Camp” –  an organization educating children in an effort to combat police brutality, Ebro thought it best to show two black men coming together despite their differences.

Charlamagne omitting these specific details tries to portray what should be a positive story into something even more sinister when he then hints at a possible ulterior motive or ‘bigger play’ as it was put. Ebro kindly clarifies that there was, in fact, a bigger play he had in mind:

“The bigger play is the community and the children, making sure that they see black men coming together to do something positive. That’s the bigger play…   you fucking dummy.” – Ebro Darden
