Donald Trump has put his state visit to Britain on hold indefinitely until the protests against him there have ended.
The president has informed the Prime Minister of Britain that he no longer has plans to visit Britain due to the protests. According to reports from The Grio, Trump doesn’t want to visit if there would be large-scale protests against him.
With Trump not being very loved in Britain especially since recently pulling out of the Paris Climate Deal, it is unlikely that protests against him will end anytime soon. Downing Street, the Prime Minister’s office, released one statement,
“We aren’t going to comment on speculation about the contents of private phone conversations. The Queen extended an invitation to President Trump to visit the UK and there is no change to those plans.”
The White House also released a statement as well which goes against what has been said thus far,
“The President has tremendous respect for Prime Minister May. That subject never came up on the call.”
We may never know what was on that phone call between Trump and the Prime Minister, but time will tell. The protests against Trump will not be ending anytime soon, and we will see if Trump can get over his ego and pride, and be a president.
