There are so many different story lines to this tremendous achievement. For starters, this was the third consecutive NBA Finals matchup between the two teams. This time, Golden State was well equipped to vanquish Lebron James and his own super group by acquiring Kevin Durant during the offseason. The Warriors had lost last year in the finals after being up (3-1) in an all but sewn up series. Last night they got their heavily sought after revenge.
Kevin Durant made his controversial offseason move worth it by finishing as the 2017 NBA Finals MVP, averaging over 30 points and finally bringing a championship to Prince Georges County Maryland. “We did it!” all the words that were needed to describe the culmination of this moment. “We did it!” were the words shared between Durant and his mother upon the completion of the game.

The team will have their parade at 10 a.m. on Thursday in downtown Oakland (Broadway and 11th Street), following the same route as the team’s parade to celebrate the 2015 NBA title.
