During a recent stop of Kehlani’s tour in Tuscon, Arizona, the singer disrupted her performance to locate one concertgoer who decided to yell the name of her ex-boyfriend, NBA Star Kyrie Irving. Immediately after the person yelled “Kyrie,” it was very clear Kehlani was having none of that.
“Get the f**k out this concert b**ch… Point him out. Where was the guy? Y’all better be loyal to me in this b**ch. Point that ni**a out. Where the fuck he at? Get his b**ch-ass out. Fuck you. We don’t play that stupid-ass s**t up in here. Come on. Kyrie would whoop your f**kin’ ass. That’s my best f**kin’ friend.” She said as fans searched the crowd for the suspect.
After the concert, Kehlani addressed the incident on her IG account.
“after a year of being tormented, harassed, people sending me death threats/showing up to festivals in jerseys throwing shit at me and chanting names, bullying my family in school, at the grocery store, walking down the street, shit that I never even SPOKE on because I dealt with my problems like an adult ON MY OWN for once…I finally stood up for myself… After a year of depression and therapy, moving away to a new city because of it, i FINALLY STOOD UP FOR MYSELF. I’ve held concerts where when they screamed a name at me I ran off, had a panic attack and cried. I’m finally confident, fearless and unashamed. It felt good as hell to do what I did, so bring on whatever you want because I’m proud of myself, my team is proud of me, my mom is proud of me. I wish you peace —- oh… and you couldnt last a day in my shoes.”
Kehlani has been dealing with criticism about her love life since last March, when PARTYNEXTDOOR posted a picture of her and fans began outcries about her cheating on Kyrie Irving, who she wasn’t dating at the time. Kehlani attempted suicide hours after that photo was posted but has since been better.
If anything is true, it’s that the coward who yelled “Kyrie” at her show, definitely couldn’t last a day in her shoes.
