As a guest on Complex’s “Everyday Struggle” Monday, the 24-year-old rapper confronted DJ Akademiks, over his coverage of violence and the Chicago hip hop scene.
“I wanted to slap you in your face,” Mensa told Akademiks after being asked about Chicago rap.
“People exactly like you sensationalized and made a following off of clowning situations that we go through in real life,” added Mensa. “I think n-ggas ain’t have no right. You specifically, you ain’t never have a right. Whatever made you feel like you had a space to have a perspective on our people dying on a daily basis?”
Vic later stated in response to an Akademiks video about the death of his childhood friend Tray 57, “To tell you the truth, I really think you’re a b-tch.”.
