There have been rumors flying around that R. Kelly has been holding women hostage in a cult. Although they are simple “rumors,” Kelly has started to put together a legal team in case of any lawsuits. He most recently hired attorney Monique Pressley, who had just represented Bill Cosby.
Pressley backed up Bill Cosby during all of his sexual cases against him throughout 2015 until she stepped down later in October of 2016.
According to an article published by Buzzfeed, R. Kelly has been accused of having a cult following of underage and young women in which he holds hostage in a few of his houses. The report claimed that Kelly doesn’t let the girls use their phones or even go to the bathroom without asking him first. Apparently, they cannot contact their family either.
R. Kelly’s reps have denied all of these rumors, saying in a statement:
“Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such accusations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.”
Do you think he did anything wrong? Director John Singleton believes that Kelly just has a bunch of girlfriends and that we “shouldn’t treat him like a Cosby”.
