They say the ones closest to you will hurt you the worst. It looks that it may be the case in the story of Louisiana legendary rapper Boosie Badass. His brother, Taquari Hatch was arrested for identity theft and fraud charges after allegedly stealing $361,000 dollars from Boosie’s Capital One Account.

Boosie says his driver’s license was stolen two years ago and that information was used to get into his account, but he didn’t reveal it was his brother who was arrested for the crime. According to the report, the perpetrator wired the money to different people by impersonating Boosie and got the cash from said people. They were discovered when they started to talk about having a wife, as Boosie doesn’t have a wife they became suspicious then.

Hatch has spoken up in his defense on social media, saying:

“This shit sad. This shit fucked up. Bad things happen to good people. I was out the first day of what they accused me of. Everybody knows I’ve been getting impersonated…Boosie’s been getting impersonated. People running scams. They’re accusing me of wiring all of this money out of the account and then claiming that it was fraud. They arrested me because the phone that was used to do it is in my name. Why the fuck would I do all of this shit only off a phone that was in my name? I’ma get cleared of this shit real fast.”

Then, he went on to pose a question. “Ask yourself,” he said. “Why would y’all favorite artist send this to TMZ?”

We hope this case isn’t what it’s initially been made out to look.
