OJ Simpson is free at last. Much to many people’s dismay, Simpson has been granted parole and is expected to be released from prison as soon as October 1st. While that may seem pretty soon, it wont be soon enough for him to see the “O.J. Simpson Museum,” a pop-up attraction coming to the art space Coagula Curatorial in LA’s Chinatown Aug. 18th-22nd.
While many are confused and against OJ getting a museum, even if it is just a pop-up, but Coagula owner says the echibition is not to glorify OJ but moreso a statement to the morbid fan culture surrounding the case.
“There are people to this day that say O.J. is innocent — not me — but it’s an obsession among Americans,” Gleason says. “All this stuff, this is the art of the people, the visual language of the common man.”
The museum is set to feature memorabilia from OJ’s personal collection, contemporary paintings and sculptures.
