Donald Glover’s rap alias Childish Gambino last attracted attention when he said at Governor’s Ball “I’ll see you for the last Gambino album,” before leaving. A lot of fans of the artist were disappointed to hear that, but it might be too earlier to call it the end of the “Childish Gambino” era. In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, he said: “You still have a lot more time of calling me [Childish Gambino] if you want.”
With all the things he has going on it’s hard to imagine he’s in a rush to retire his rap career. Glover is providing the voice to Simba in the new Lion King live action remake, he’s landed a role in the upcoming Star Wars Han-Solo spinoff, and he says the second season of his hit FX show “Atlanta” is almost done (Season 2 is expected to premiere in 2018). He’s said that he’s been making music in London and the city has been very inspiring to him. Either way, we’re excited to see whatever Donald Glover is a part of.
