Cardi B. is out here making history one week at a time. The former “Love & Hip Hop” star’s breakout hit “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” has moved up from number 14 to number 8 on Billboard Hot 100 charts. With this news, “Bodack Yellow” becomes the highest-charting solo single by a female rapper since Nicki Minaj’s “Andaconda” in 2014, the song also becomes the first female rapper to hit Billboard’s top 10 since Iggy Azealea & Charlie XCX’s single “Fancy.” Finally, “Bodack Yellow” is the fastest ascending single to hit Hot 100’s top 10 for a debut hit by a female solo artist in a lead role since Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” in 2014.
The song went number one over the weekend overall on iTunes and after debuting it at NYC’s Dominican Parade, Cardi says the Spanish version of “Bodak Yellow” will come out on August 18.
